Joe Wood

Joe has become one of the most important players in the first team squad over the last two seasons.

Joe is a tough tackling, competitive player who is rarely beaten for pace. He operates down the middle and is always a threat in the box from set pieces.

Joe was the Young Player of the Year 2009. Has recently become Vice Captain.

Dan joined the club in 2010 after moving locally. Has played at a much higher level during his career

A very influential defender who tackles strongly and rarely gets beaten by an attacker.

Luke joined the club for the 2010/11 season, playing very well for the reserves and impressing in the friendly against Wimborne.

Has since played a string of games for the first team and will be hopeful of securing a place in the first team.

Jack Geddes

Jack joined the reserve team after finishing youth football at the end of the 2009 season. Has since progressed to the first team in the 2010/11 season.

Jack has adapted to men’s football very quickly has become a consistent performer at right back. He is a tough tackler who likes to get forward.

Ryan is yet another product of the Stur Youth set up. He left football for a while after finishing with youth football but returned to the game and to the club in the summer of 2008.

He is probably the most improved player at the club over the past season and is a vital part of the reserve team. is an essential part of the reserve side.

Matt is an excellent squad member who can comfortably play in a variety of positions.  He is very competitive player who shows good leadership skills. 

He was a Dorset Senior League winner in 2006, and has made a welcome return to the club after a stint at Exeter University.

Ciaran is another one to progress from the youth set up. He has become an important part of the reserves and stepped up admirably to the first team when needed.

He is one of the most promising young players at the club who reads the game exceptionally well, winning the Young Player of the Year 2010.

Will Gage

Position: Winger/Full Back  Age: 20

Will is a talented young player who can play in almost any position, filling in at full back for most of the last two seasons.

He is comfortable with the ball at his feet and provides great delivery. 

He deservedly won the Young Player of the Season award in 2008, after a string of fine performances for the first team.

Luke Geddes

Position: Winger  Age:23 Previous Clubs:

Luke joined the club in 2008. He  operates either on the wing or up front.

Luke is quick and is very dangerous when running at the opposition. A reserve team regular, Luke made his first team debut in 2009 and has since pushed on and become a first team player, scoring some valuable goals.

Mark Reynolds

Position:Centre Mid/FullBack Age: 23

Previous Clubs: Stur Newton, RIAS

Another to join the club in Summer 2010, Mark is a combative midfielder who is effective aerially and in his passing.

He scored an important equaliser away at Westlands and has helped propel the team up the table.

Hopefully a player that will stay at the club for a long time.

Steve Johnston

Position: Winger/Midfielder    Age: 25

Steve joined the club in the summer of 2008 and it is no coincidence that the reserves upturn in fortune coincided with him and his brother Dave joining the club.

He provides a real attacking threat from anywhere across the midfield and weighs in with his fair share of goals.

"Jonesy" joined the club from Poole Town in the 2007/08 season. 

He is an skilful attacking player with bags of energy. Some tremendous performances for the reserves earned him a crack at the first team towards the end of last season and he turned in a series of eye-catching performances.

He has since become one of the most important players for the first team; a linchpin in midfield.

Gareth Thomas

Position: Centre Midfield        Age: 28

Previous Clubs:

"Tommo" made his debut for the club aged 16 and was a member of both the 2001 Division 2 winning side and the Senior League Championship side of 2006.

A tough-tackling, all-action midfield player, Gareth never gives less than 100% and his never-say-die attitude and battling nature makes him an extremely popular member of the squad.

Erkan Mete

Position: Striker/Midfielder    Age: 30

Erkan joined the club in 2008 and is an experienced centre forward. who has recently dropped back to play in midfield. 

He has an eye for goal and also provides a physical presence.  His leadership qualities make him indispensable to the reserves. Erkan has played many first team games and has performed admirably when called upon.

Richie is a player with an excellent eye for a pass, possessing exceptional crossing ability.

Arguably Morris' most influential signing of Summer 2010, Dan was one of the top scorers in the DPL last term and has undoubtedly helped Stur become a top 7 side.

Great in the air, Sam likes to hold the ball up and bring others into play, whilst getting himself in amongst the goals as well.

Scott Thomas

Scott has followed in the footsteps of his brothers Gareth and Lee by representing the club. 

A player with exceptional pace, he is very direct and unsettles opponents with his constant hassling and chasing.

Scott is regular goal scorer and scored on his debut for the club.

Darrell Williams

Position: Striker                    Age: 28

Previous Clubs: Hamworthy Utd, Poole Boro

Darrell made his debut for the club aged 15 and was a member of both the 2001 Division 2 winning side and the Senior League Champions of 2006.

He scored 30 goals in the Senior League winning season and began to attract attention from clubs all over the county. The 17 goals he scored in his first season in the DPL persuaded Wessex League side Hamworthy Utd to make an approach and "Dazza" went off to try his luck at the higher level.

A season at Hamworthy and a season at Poole Boro followed before he made a welcome return home.

Now plays deeper in an attacking-midfield role.
