Dorchester Magpies

The game was fairly evenly fought for much of
match with Stur going behind just before half
time. Dorchester caught Stur napping straight
after the second half kick off and went two
ahead. Stur could not covert the many chances
they had in front of goal and in pushing forward
were caught on the break as Dorchester went
three up. Despite playing well Stur struggled to
get back into the game and the last two goals
were as a result of simple mistakes. Ryan played
well and had to retire injured late in the
second half, Jack persisted for the entire
game working hard continuously and was named Man
Of the Match.

Even the opposition Coach remarked the score
line didn't do Stur justice. We played better
than the result indicated, with plenty of good
movement and passing, we just couldn't
managed that final finish and get the early
goals that can often determine the outcome of
the game. Frustrating as it can be, knowing we
are capable of better and have done so in the
past, sometimes it's just not your day, and for
no particular reason nothing goes your way and
today felt like one of those days. We did
better maintaining our discipline by keeping our
positions, but we did loose our concentration
and we need to work on making the most of
opportunities that come our way, particularly
when we receive the ball from opposition
goalkicks which are golden scoring
opportunities.
