Dorchester Panthers 6 SMYFC 3

The first half got off at a cracking pace with Stur going ahead after 2 minutes when Josh netted the ball, 4 minutes later Ryan grabbed a goal to put Stur two nil up, Dorchester pulled one back after 17 minutes and Stur responded straight away when Brad scored following a goalmouth scramble 19 minutes in. Dorchester scored at 20  and again at 21 minutes and the first half closed three all. After the break whilst the game was even, Dorchester brook through and scored another three. It could have been more but Harry saved a number of breakthrough opportunities, and was named Man Of the Match.

Fantastic game fought at almost a frantic pace, it was an absolute joy to watch, unfortunately the scoreline was the wrong way round. We seem to have began a season habit of taking an early lead, only to see us give this away and then be overrun by the opposition, which is a complete reverse of last year, when we had a habit of coming back from behind. This could be due to three reasons: 1 The opposition are better than us, 2 - We are not fit enough and therefore lack pace late on in the game or 3 - We loose our concentration and are not disciplined enough to keep our shape. Well in fairness very few teams we meet are actually better than us on our day, so my belief is that it is a combination of 2 and 3. We also seem to avoid passing the ball through the middle of the field and our first touch control was lacking, so it gives us somethings to focus on in training.
