Sturminster Marshall football club recognises the fact that its coaches are a valuable asset. It is imperative for the game as a whole that all coaches involved with Sturminster Marshall FC attain the level 1 FA coaching certificate. Club coaches are encouraged to join the Football Association Coaches Association (FACA) to further develop their coaching skills.

At this moment in time Sturminster Marshall FC has 8 qualified level 1 coaches for the child/youth sections. Over the next three years we intend to double the number of level 1 coaches and progress at least 2 coaches to level 2.

Full use will be made of organised coaching schemes delivered by Dorset FA. The Club has already applied for 3 additional coaches on the next level 1coarse.

Impetus will also be achieved by utilising the experience of the coaches we already have in post. The present coaches will be encouraged to form a mentoring partnership with others who wish to coach and reach higher levels. This method has been used by the club in recent times and has proved to be very effective.

In addition to in-house expertise, the Club would also wish to target ex-players who would wish to work towards a coaching qualification.
