The Club wishes to expand further, not only to encompass the expected growth of youth teams (mini soccer as well as 11-a-side) but to also to work with other, hitherto, less represented groups such as female soccer and also encourage the participation of those who have a disability or who are more mature in years.

The expansion of the Club, however, is severely constrained by the fact that it does not own or lease its facilities. At present it is limited by the fact that Churchill Close will only grant a one year lease via the Sports Association (annually renewable) for use of pitch areas and that the Club has not permanent residence for both playing area and club house. This lack of security of tenure curtails the ability of the Football Club to apply for and benefit from external funding from sources like the Football Foundation. The club also has far from satisfactory training facilities and needs to secure a site where floodlights can be erected to allow mid week winter training.

In order to combat this, Sturminster Marshall  FC is pursuing a strategy of:

Liaison with Schools to ensure that dual use is made of facilities and to promote the involvement of children in sporting activity outside of the curriculum
