Sturminster Marshall football club has close links with local schools. These links have been forged more closely since the formation of the soccer academy. The soccer academy is now be located in the secure grounds of the Admiralty on the A31 ideally situation between Sturminster Marshall and Corfe Mullen. In addition to this it is hoped that Sturminster Marshall mini soccer is to played at this location when facilities have been improved. Once established it is intended that the Club will offer coaching for local school teams as an after school club. The Club is also in the process of adding more mini soccer pitches and a youth pitch to its playing facilities at this location and is currently engaged in talks with the land owners Wessex Water, Corfe Mullen Parish and East Dorset District Council to redevelopment the a joining fields into pitches.

 

The Club wishes to promote more activity for children during out of School hours and in vacation periods. As an introduction to this the Club is investigating the possibilities of running an after school and holiday soccer school open to all young players from in and around the community irrespective of which school or club they attend.

 

The appointment of a Schools Liaison officer will enhance and heighten school links. The Schools Liaison officer has been appointed to co-ordinate and improve the relationship between the club and a wider range of local schools.

 

Sturminster Marshall F.C will support any local school’s attempts to apply to become an F.A Charter Standard School. This will be carried out by close liaison between the school and officials of Sturminster Marshall  Football Club who will be prepared to sit as members of working parties and/or committees.

 

The club will also encourage school staff to become involved with Sturminster Marshall Football Club as part of a two way exchange of skills and abilities to the mutual benefit of both organisations.

Obviously Sturminster Marshall Football Club, whilst wishing to have highly successful teams, also recognises that football is a game for all children and adults no matter what their ability. The Club strives to promote an environment where children and adults are allowed to participate in healthy sporting and recreational facilities.
